About this opportunity
NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center seeks to develop tools, services, and a platform for scalable visualization, exploration, and analysis of large science datasets in a cloud environment. The objective is to provide end users the ability to interactively explore science data through cloud native tools and services for data ingestion, transformation, and dynamic scalable visualization. Proposals are due April 21, 2022 and will be evaluated based on their ability to contribute to the development of components for scalable science data exploration to further NASA's Earth Science Data System Program goals.
There is no set-aside designation for this pre-solicitation. The contract will support the Inter Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team and their focus on interagency collaboration and research and development of advanced concepts for processing and analyzing Earth science data from NASA missions. As this is a pre-solicitation notice, specific award values, timelines, or potential contractors are not provided, but the work will involve developing innovative data exploration solutions and contribute to maximizing the scientific return of NASA's Earth science missions.
Notice text
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)/Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) is seeking development of tools, services and platform for scalable visualization, exploration, and analysis of science data on the commercial cloud environment. There is a need within NASA Earth Science to provide end users with a capability to visualize and interactively explore large datasets. Towards that end, current capabilities need to be evolved using innovative solutions. The main objective of this effort is to develop cloud native tools and services for data ingest and transformation to support scalable dynamic visualization and exploration of science data.
The Inter Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) is a collaborative, interdisciplinary team of civil service and contractors that works to further NASA’s Earth Science Data System (ESDS) Program goal of overseeing the lifecycle of Earth science data to maximize the scientific return of NASA's missions and experiments for research and applied scientists, decision makers, and the society at large. IMPACT’s three focus areas are interagency collaboration, assessment and evaluation, and research and development of advanced concepts. This contract will contribute to the goal of the development of Components for Scalable Science Data Exploration.
