About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service seeks invasive species herbicide treatment services at Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge in McBee, South Carolina, with quotes due August 7, 2026 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. The procurement is a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS 541620 (Environmental Consulting Services).
Place of performance is Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge, McBee, South Carolina. The work spans 396 total acres across two treatment areas: 154 acres requiring Triclopyr application and 242 acres requiring Imazapyr and Glyphosate application. The performance period runs August 15 through October 30, 2026, with overall contract performance extending through December 31, 2026. Applications must use a modified skidder and be conducted during daylight hours, Monday through Friday. The contractor must be registered in SAM.gov and pay via electronic funds transfer.
The Government will award via Firm-Fixed Price purchase order based on technical experience and capacity specific to invasive species herbicide treatment at comparable scale and location, technical approach and work methodology, management plan with identified key personnel and subcontractors, and past performance. Technical capabilities and past performance combined are weighted significantly more than price. Offerors must submit a completed SF 1449 with signature, company information including SAM.gov UEI, technical capabilities documentation, minimum three past performance references with at least two valid references per example, and detailed per-acre price quotes for each treatment area. Quotations should be per-acre basis. The anticipated award date is August 15, 2026. The previous contract (140FS325PO252) was awarded to Silva Tech II, Inc., for eighteen thousand five hundred sixty dollars. Service Contract Act prevailing wage rates apply; rates in Chesterfield County range from approximately nine dollars ten cents to fifty-two dollars ninety-four cents per hour depending on occupational classification.
