About this opportunity
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency seeks proposals to develop and validate a distributed instrumentation system for measuring parameters such as pressure, temperature, and flow properties in hypersonic propulsion system environments. Proposals are due by August 6, 2019 and can request up to $225,000 for Phase I awards to fund system design and modeling over six months. Phase II proposals can request up to $1,750,000 over two years to fund system development, ground and flight testing, and data collection to demonstrate utility for hypersonic vehicles. Evaluation criteria and submission instructions are provided in BAA HR001119S0035.
There is no set-aside designation for this opportunity. Phase I and direct to Phase II proposals are sought under NAICS code 541715 with a focus on research and development. Successful proposals would enable hypersonic vehicle and engine research along with future commercial supersonic aircraft. Phase I awards will be made by September 2019 to fund initial feasibility studies and design, with Phase II work expected to begin in 2020 pending successful Phase I performance and availability of funding.
