About this opportunity

The Fort Knox Qualified Recycle Program, operating under the Department of the Army, is soliciting bids for the sale of used motor oil and collection of used anti-freeze from the Fort Knox Army installation. The program seeks a qualified bidder to pick up good, bad, and wet used motor oil along with used anti-freeze from various collection points across the facility. Key requirements include bi-monthly pickups with notification, collection within ten working days of notification, use of an appropriately licensed and placarded pump truck (typically 3,600 gallon capacity) at no charge to the QRP, and strict compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws regarding handling and transportation of petroleum products. The bidder must also obtain a Pre-Award Survey, maintain spill material kits, and immediately report any spillages to the Fort Knox Fire Department and Environmental Management Division. Award will be made to the bidder offering the best price per pound for the materials. The solicitation was posted on March 3, 2026, with a response deadline of March 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST, and bids should be submitted by email to jamie.l.daley2.naf@army.mil or anita.l.overton2.naf@army.mil.

All pickups must occur during QRP shipping hours of 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays, and weight certification is mandatory using Fort Knox QRP scales at Building 2962. Payment is due within fifteen calendar days of invoice in the form of bank drafts, cashier's checks, certified checks, traveler's checks, or postal money orders made payable to the U.S. Treasury Department Fort Knox QRP.
