About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) awarded Mercury Systems, Inc. of Andover, Massachusetts a $487,400 firm-fixed-price purchase order for ten Rugged High Density Servers and four Sensor Processors to support the AEGIS Weapon System. The sole source justification is based on Mercury Systems being the Original Equipment Manufacturer with proprietary technical data, making them the only responsible source for these customized rugged components required for the Multi-Mode Signal Processor and AEGIS Linear Programming System. The procurement is critical for signal processing capabilities including SPY-1D(V) radar signal processor Anti-Air Warfare functionality and electromagnetic interference mitigation, with Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems having approved Mercury as the sole approved source for these system components. The Navy determined that using an alternative source would introduce significant operational risks, including potential 14-month delays for reverse engineering and qualifying replacement parts, which could negatively impact ongoing AEGIS Light Off testing efforts and new ship construction and modernization programs. Work will be performed in Andover, Massachusetts with completion expected by July 2026.
