About this opportunity
Tobyhanna Army Depot, under the Department of the Army, is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources capable of providing one Prototype/Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) robotic wire harness manufacturing machine, one Full Rate Production machine, comprehensive machine documentation, operational software, and engineering services. The RFI seeks prime contractors under NAICS code 532490 and PSC W036 who possess the expertise and capabilities to meet the Government's requirements as outlined in the Draft Statement of Work. Key requirements include machines capable of handling various wire types (power, data) and termination methods (IDC, crimp, poke home, splice), with the LRIP machine measuring 2.3m x 2.2m x 2.3m and the Full Rate Production machine measuring 5.2m x 3.0m x 3.1m. The Government has stated that this RFI is solely for market research and information-gathering purposes and does not constitute a formal solicitation; responses will not be evaluated competitively and will not form a binding contract. This procurement contains no set-aside designation and no incumbent contractor or award value has been identified in the pre-solicitation notice. The LRIP machine requires 240V single-phase power at 32A maximum with 700 kPa pneumatic pressure, while the Full Rate Production machine requires 400V three-phase power at 32A maximum, both operating within +10 to +35 degrees Celsius and 5-85% ambient humidity. Deliverables for both machines include operators manuals, maintenance manuals, installation documentation, training materials, CAD/CAM compatible software, and comprehensive engineering services encompassing operator and advanced operator training, application engineer support, field support personnel, and end effector development capabilities. The Government reserves the right to conduct one-on-one follow-up discussions with respondents to obtain additional information or clarification regarding submitted information. All proprietary or corporate data submitted will be protected from public release.
