About this opportunity
The 10th Contracting Squadron at the United States Air Force Academy is conducting market research via Sources Sought Notice to identify capable vendors for a Supercontinuum Laser Source, with capability statements due by July 16, 2026. This is a market research notice only and does not constitute a commitment to issue a solicitation.
The equipment will support the USAFA Physics Department and the Laser and Optics Research Center (LORC), enabling cadets majoring or minoring in Physics to conduct wavelength-agile modulation phenomenology research. Place of performance and delivery is USAF Academy, Colorado 80840.
Minimum technical specifications are: total average output power of at least 30 watts; wavelength spectral range of 400–2400 nanometers; average spectral power density exceeding 16 milliwatts per nanometer across the full spectral range; repetition rate of at least 1 megahertz; average power stability less than 0.5 percent RMS (standard deviation); included output isolation; computer control interface; warranty coverage; and shipping included.
The procurement is classified under NAICS 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) and PSC 6650 (Optical Instruments, Test Equipment, Components and Accessories). Small business size standard is 1,000 employees.
Capability Statement submissions must include company profile (name, address, point of contact, CAGE code, UEI number, SAM registration expiration date), business size and socioeconomic status designation, technical capability description with product specifications, estimated delivery lead time, and information on any existing government contracts (GWACs, GSA Multiple Award Schedules, or other vehicles) offering this product. Submit to Contracting Officer Ms. Nathalieb Zepeda at Nathalieb.Zepeda@us.af.mil.
