About this opportunity
The Air Force Installation Contracting Agency is seeking market research on a small unmanned aircraft system management platform procurement via Sources Sought Notice A065462, with responses due July 16, 2026. This is an informational market-research notice only and does not constitute a solicitation or bind the government to contract award; a formal solicitation will follow.
The requirement centers on three HIVE EXPEDITIONARY V2 "drone-in-a-box" systems capable of autonomously launching, recovering, recharging, and sheltering a multi-drone fleet. The systems must integrate with multiple Blue UAS Cleared List platforms—30 Teal Black Widow units, 6 Skydio X10D units, and 36 Teal 2 units—with corresponding adapter kits to prevent vendor lock-in. The platform must be vehicle-mountable (approximately 400 lbs), deployable in under 10 minutes, and fully automate the sUAS lifecycle without manual operator intervention for battery swaps or aircraft handling.
The procurement includes one developer kit, operator training for 16 personnel conducted on-site, spare trays for each drone platform, comprehensive 24-month onsite technical and maintenance support, and shipping. The contract will be structured as Firm Fixed Price. Performance is under NAICS 336411 (Aircraft Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 1,500 employees.
Responses should be submitted in writing via email to Homer Rios (Contract Specialist) or TSgt Azaria Nave (Contracting Officer) at the 773 Enterprise Sourcing Squadron, JBSA-Lackland, Texas 78236. All information submitted will be voluntary and used for acquisition strategy decisions only; no reimbursement will be provided for response costs, and no contract will be directly awarded based on responses.

The requirement is for the procurement of a specific, brand-name Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) management
platform. This acquisition includes the hardware, software, integration engineering, operator training, and maintenance support necessary to conduct a comprehensive Proof-of-Concept (PoC). The system is a "drone-in-a-box" infrastructure capable of autonomously launching, recovering, recharging, and sheltering a fleet of 12-18 sUAS. The government's minimum essential requirements for this mission, which cannot be met by other market alternatives, are as follows:
Multi-Drone Fleet Capacity: The system must be a single tactical unit capable of housing, managing, and autonomously
operating a fleet of at least 12 sUAS simultaneously to provide continuous, untethered surveillance.
Platform Agnosticism: The system must be able to integrate with and operate multiple drone models currently on the Blue
UAS Cleared List, including the Teal 2, Teal Black Widow, and Skydio X10D. This prevents vendor lock-in to a proprietary
drone fleet.
Automated Expeditionary Logistics: The system must be vehicle-mountable (approx. 400 lbs), deployable in under 10
minutes, and capable of fully automating the entire sUAS lifecycle (launch, recovery, battery charging, and redeployment)
without requiring manual operator intervention for battery swaps or aircraft handling.
