About this opportunity
Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground, on behalf of Product Manager Soldier Maneuver Sensors, is conducting market research on commercially available or near-production-ready handheld End User Devices for next-generation Nett Warrior deployment, with responses due by June 12, 2026. This is an RFI for market research only and does not constitute a promise to issue an RFP or award a contract.
Respondents must address eight technical categories: Connectivity (USB-C, LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G standards); Display (touchscreen operability with gloves, impact resistance, and brightness specifications in nits); Environmental (IP68 and MIL-STD-810H compliance with testing documentation); Ruggedness (shock, drop, vibration, and ballistic testing per MIL-STD-810H where available); Security/Data Enclave (NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified approval status); Battery & Power (capacity, charging time, and user-swappability); Performance (RAM, processor specifications, and AI integration); Electromagnetic Footprint (EMI testing per MIL-STD-461); Storage (internal and expandable capacity); and Operating System (Android OS update plans and custom ROM support).
Vendors must propose modifications to commercial-off-the-shelf software, recommend additional features, and provide rough order of magnitude cost estimates for R&D quantities (3,500 units) and fielding quantities (35,000 units), including licensing, development, and maintenance support. Integration is projected for Fiscal Year 2027 with fielding beginning in FY28. Responses must not exceed 15 pages excluding supporting documentation, with proprietary information clearly marked. All cost figures are estimates creating no obligation for either party.
