About this opportunity

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Aerial Networks Division (AFLCMC/C3N) has issued a Request for Information seeking qualified vendors to provide two distinct types of support for the Tactical Remote Operations Node (TRON) Program. The first requirement involves interim contractor support and sustainment services for existing TRON systems, including preventative and corrective maintenance, software updates, help desk support, training, spare parts management, supply chain risk management, configuration management, and technical documentation. The second requirement seeks alternate off-the-shelf material solutions that can meet TRON operational requirements as potential replacements for current systems. To participate, interested U.S. companies must possess an active U.S. CAGE Code and maintain at minimum a Secret facility clearance. Companies can request the System Requirement Document by July 9, 2025, and must submit their responses by August 1, 2025, with responses limited to 10 pages and submitted via email or the DoD Secure Access File Exchange. The evaluation will focus on supply chain risk management capabilities, sustaining engineering capabilities, and the technical merit of proposed material solutions.

This pre-solicitation notice does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors meeting the security clearance requirements. The document does not identify any current incumbents or existing contractors supporting the TRON program, nor does it provide specific award values or budget ranges for the anticipated contract opportunities. The RFI emphasizes that this is an information-gathering exercise and does not guarantee future contract awards, with the government using responses to refine cost and capability analyses and develop acquisition strategies. The timeline indicates that companies have approximately one month from the July 9, 2025 document request deadline to prepare and submit their responses by August 1, 2025. The procurement falls under NAICS code 541330 for Engineering Services and PSC code R425 for Professional Engineering/Technical Support, indicating the technical nature of the required services and solutions.
