About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command, Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) for a thermal weapon sight that provides visibility during night/day and degraded battlefield or weather conditions, and includes bullet trace capability. The RFI seeks white papers from potential sources capable of delivering this capability, which is intended to improve sniper lethality and survivability under the Family of Weapon Sights-Sniper (FWS-S) program. Respondents are asked to provide information on their technical and production capabilities, estimated unit pricing, technology readiness levels, and any planned improvements or emerging technologies. Responses are due by November 29, 2024 and should be limited to 15 pages. The Government will use the information to inform its acquisition strategy, but does not guarantee that a solicitation will be issued, and will not reimburse any costs associated with responding to the RFI.

This RFI does not have a set-aside designation. The Government has not identified any potential incumbents or current contractors. No award value or budget range was provided, and the RFI does not specify a quantity of goods or timeline for services. The related Statement of Objectives indicates the intent to award a contract in the 3rd quarter of fiscal year 2025 to support government testing.
