About this opportunity

The U.S. Coast Guard is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential contractors capable of providing in-person, hands-on training for SAE AS7489 ACAS Course I Certification for aviation maintenance technicians. The training is specifically designed to support the Coast Guard's operational-level aircraft paint repair and maintenance needs, focusing on corrosion inspections and airframe damage repairs. The RFI seeks contractors who can deliver comprehensive training that meets the SAE AS7489 standard and can also proctor certification tests upon training completion. Interested parties are required to submit detailed responses by February 18, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST, including organizational information, socioeconomic status, unique entity identifiers, and contract vehicle details. The agency emphasizes that this RFI is for market research purposes and does not constitute a formal solicitation, with the potential for a future formal solicitation based on the responses received.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity, which falls under the NAICS category 611519 for Other Technical and Trade Schools. While no specific award value or budget range is currently disclosed, the contract will likely be structured to support the Coast Guard's aviation maintenance training requirements. The scope of services appears focused on a single certification course, suggesting a targeted and specialized training program. The Coast Guard will use the submitted RFI responses to evaluate potential contractors' capabilities, experience, and readiness to provide the required SAE AS7489 ACAS Course I Certification training. Potential contractors should be prepared to demonstrate their technical expertise, training methodologies, and ability to meet the specific certification standards required by the Coast Guard's aviation maintenance operations.
