About this opportunity

NOAA's Alaska Fisheries Science Center intends to award a sole-source contract to Meridian Systems LLC for monitoring, maintenance, and repair of the Building Automation System at Auke Bay Laboratories, with statements of interest due July 15, 2026. The BAS, installed in 2013, is a proprietary Automated Logic system; Meridian Systems LLC is the only vendor in Alaska authorized to service Automated Logic equipment, justifying the sole-source award under 41 U.S.C. 1901(a)(1).

The system uses proprietary equipment and open architectures, communicating via BACnet, LonWorks, BACnet/IP, and TCP/IP protocols on a dedicated independent network, with management and monitoring conducted through the WebCtrl server.

The Contracting Officer is Rachel Stone at NOAA Fisheries Seattle Branch, Seattle, Washington. The procurement will follow Revolutionary Federal Acquisition Regulations Overhaul (RFO) Part 12 procedures for commercial items and services as a firm-fixed-price commercial item contract. NAICS code 561210 (Facilities Support Services) applies with a business size standard of $47.0 million. The notice states that responses do not constitute a formal solicitation and that the government retains discretion to conduct a competitive procurement for future requirements.
