About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to identify potential manufacturers for the Circuit Card Assembly for the C-5 Ice Detector, a critical component located at the Flight Engineer's station in the C-5 Aircraft that monitors ice buildup. The primary objective is to identify sources with specific expertise and technical capabilities for producing this specialized electronic assembly. Currently, only two firms are known to have the required technical knowledge: Rosemount Aerospace Inc. (CAGE: 59885) and Aerospace Maintenance Solutions (CAGE: 449T3). The government does not possess the technical data, drawings, or schematics for this item, which limits competitive sourcing. Interested parties must communicate their capabilities and interest by December 27, 2024, by emailing matthew.white.48@us.af.mil and vanessa.moes.1@us.af.mil, with the contracting office intending to award a buy contract using Other Than Full and Open Competition under FAR 6.302-1.

No specific set-aside designations are attached to this procurement, and the government intends to award the contract directly to either Rosemount Aerospace or Aerospace Maintenance Solutions due to their unique technical capabilities. The specific National Stock Number (NSN) for the Circuit Card Assembly is 5998-01-231-4713UC, with a Part Number of 00871-1084-0001. While no specific award value or quantity is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the procurement is specifically in support of the C-5 aircraft program. The government emphasizes that this sources sought synopsis is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation, and respondents will not be compensated for preparing responses. The procurement process will evaluate potential sources based on their technical expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and ability to meet the specific performance requirements of the C-5 Ice Detector's Circuit Card Assembly.
