About this opportunity

The United States Coast Guard has issued a Request for Information seeking information on operational Dual Point Davit Launch and Recovery Systems to support Search and Rescue, Law Enforcement, Flight Deck and Rescue Boat operations on cutters. The RFI targets marine davit systems that can meet specific technical requirements including maximum shipboard interface dimensions of 30 feet long and 22,500 pounds, operational capability in sea state 4 or greater with temperature ranges from -20°F to +125°F, and emergency launch/recovery capabilities. Respondents must provide vendor cutsheets, detailed system specifications, operating requirements, capacity details, launch and recovery operation descriptions, past performance information, and a 20-year life cycle cost estimate. The evaluation will focus on existing technologies and equipment currently used in commercial and/or government applications, with submissions limited to vendor cutsheets (maximum 10 pages) and collective responses to additional requirements (maximum 5 pages). The response deadline is July 9, 2025, at 5:00 PM EDT, with electronic submissions required to two USCG contacts using a specific email subject line format.

This procurement opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified vendors. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the solicitation documents. The Coast Guard is seeking cost estimates for 50 davit systems over a 20-year life cycle, though no specific budget range or total contract value has been disclosed. The RFI emphasizes that this is strictly a market research effort under FAR Part 10 and does not constitute a commitment to issue a future Request for Proposal, with the government explicitly stating that respondents will not be compensated for their submissions. Marketing brochures, telephone responses, voicemail responses, and late submissions will not be accepted as part of this information gathering process.
