The procurement seeks hybrid airframe systems with both vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) and high-speed fixed-wing flight capabilities exceeding 150 miles per hour, an operational range of at least 20 kilometers, and First-Person View control interface capabilities. Systems must be fully integrated with certified, swappable non-kinetic training payloads and designed as turnkey, ruggedized solutions ready for immediate field deployment by unit operators. Critical qualification requirements include compliance with NDAA 2020 Section 848 and NDAA 2023 Section 817, as well as listing on the DIU BLUE LIST as of April 13, 2026. The RFI was posted on April 16, 2026, with responses due by April 23, 2026, and is issued for planning and market research purposes only without constituting a binding commitment or solicitation.
