About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the Geospatial-Intelligence Workstation-Tactical (GWS-T) system. This RFI represents a follow-up to a previous notice issued on April 30, 2025, with updated descriptions regarding the government's market research approach. The Product Manager for Intelligence Systems & Analytics (PM IS&A) within the Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (PEO IEW&S) is conducting this market research to shape technical options for developing the physical form factor of the GWS-T system. The system is designed as a mobile computing solution to enhance geospatial intelligence capabilities for Brigade Combat Teams and Maneuver Brigades. The RFI addresses two primary system components: the GWS-T Workstation and the GWS-T Edge Node.
The purpose of this RFI is to conduct comprehensive market research that will inform the development of ruggedized tactical computing systems capable of operating in austere military environments. Contractors must submit responses by August 5, 2025, addressing detailed technical requirements including specific weight constraints (10-15 pounds for the Workstation and under 25 pounds for the Edge Node), computing specifications featuring Intel Xeon CPUs with 8+ cores, 64-128 GB memory, and 4-6 TB storage capacity. Vendors must demonstrate how their proposed solutions meet or exceed all applicable requirements for both system components, with emphasis on robust networking and security features. The government plans to conduct follow-up market research events and reserves the right to select one or multiple hardware solutions for potential integration into the Army's Common Hardware Systems (CHS) contract. No specific eligibility criteria for contractor participation are outlined in the notice, suggesting this market research opportunity is open to all qualified vendors.
