About this opportunity
The Transportation Security Administration is issuing a Request for Information on computer-based color vision testing solutions, with responses due by 12:00 PM EDT on October 19, 2026. TSA currently administers approximately 26,825 color vision tests annually through a third-party medical services provider and intends to transition this function in-house to improve efficiency and reduce long-term costs.
TSA seeks market research on available technologies, pricing structures, and implementation models. The anticipated NAICS code is 513210 (Software Publishers) and PSC is 7A21 (IT and Telecom, Business Application Software as a Service). TSA anticipates a single contract award and is exploring options to acquire an in-house, computer-based color vision testing solution to be administered by TSA personnel.
Responses must address three primary sections: capabilities statement including company information, CAGE code, UEI, and socio-economic status; relevant experience with up to three similar projects detailing customer, period of performance, contract value, and performance metrics; and detailed responses to a draft Performance Work Statement covering solution overview, validation and usage, pricing and implementation (including rough order of magnitude for 450 locations), security and compliance (Section 508 accessibility conformance report and FedRAMP status), and industry recommendations for future RFPs. Responses are limited to eight pages in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format and must be submitted via email to Jason.Richards@tsa.dhs.gov and Tiara.jones@tsa.dhs.gov. TSA reserves the right to arrange technical demonstrations or pilot programs with selected respondents. This RFI is issued for informational purposes only and does not constitute a binding solicitation; the Government will provide no reimbursement for response costs.
