About this opportunity
The United States Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance & Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate is conducting market research to identify sources for a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) C2 Core Computer. This specialized laptop system is designed for mission planning, joint/coalition air power integration, and tactical edge communications. The computer must have specific technical capabilities, including three replaceable hard drives for multiple network operations, video processing for simultaneous video feeds and moving map displays, and the ability to run 3D mapping and productivity applications concurrently. The Request for Information (RFI) seeks detailed information from potential vendors about their product specifications, capabilities, and potential improvements. Responses are due electronically by 12:00 PM Eastern time on May 9, 2025, and must be submitted via email to Edwin Hernandez and Deb Sullivan.
The procurement opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and is open to both U.S. and non-U.S. firms. Respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and are limited to a 10-page response describing their capabilities. The computer requirements include an Intel i7 12th generation processor, minimum 32GB RAM, a 13"+ display, MIL-STD-810H ruggedization, and IP66 dust/water resistance. While specific award values are not disclosed, the system is intended to support critical military operations, including close air support (CAS) and air interdiction missions. The RFI emphasizes that this is a market research effort and does not constitute a formal solicitation or guarantee of future procurement, allowing the government to gather comprehensive information about potential technological solutions for tactical communication and mission planning needs.
