About this opportunity
The United States Coast Guard is conducting market research through a Request for Information to identify commercially available U.S.-built Offshore Supply Vessels that could be purchased or leased to support operations in the Gulf of America and Caribbean Sea. The Coast Guard seeks vessels meeting specific technical requirements including maximum length of 300 feet, draft of 23 feet or less, minimum speed of 10-12 knots, range of 2,000 nautical miles, and ability to accommodate 55-95 crew members for 21-day missions without replenishment. These vessels would complement existing Coast Guard surface assets by providing logistics support, limited law enforcement capability, maritime domain awareness, and extending operational range and endurance of other assets. Respondents must submit detailed technical information including vessel specifications, capabilities, modification potential, and rough order of magnitude pricing estimates. The response deadline is July 9, 2025, at 5:00 PM EDT, with an optional virtual engagement session scheduled for June 27, 2025.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and no incumbent contractors are identified in the documentation. The Coast Guard is interested in acquiring up to six vessels through this potential procurement, with a contemplated contract structure including a 12-month base period and 12-month option period. The vessels must provide specific capabilities including minimum deck space of 2,250 square feet, ability to launch and recover two Coast Guard standard boats, and accommodation for crews ranging from 55 to 95 personnel depending on mission requirements. Various crewing strategies are being considered including contractor-operated, hybrid arrangements, or full Coast Guard crew operations. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed, respondents are required to provide rough order of magnitude cost estimates for both purchase and lease options as part of their submissions.
