About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Core Computers with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Dual Data at Rest (DAR) capabilities. The primary objective is to enable TACP Core Computers to be classified when powered on but unclassified when powered off or logged out through proper sanitization of classified data, thereby mitigating logistical and operational security concerns during field operations. The solution requires a minimum hardware update to hard drives supporting full disk encryption and a software update, with specific technical requirements including an NVMe Solid State Drive in M.2 2280 form factor, TCG Opal compliance, minimum 1 TB capacity, and compatibility with Getac B360 G2 or G3 series laptops. Respondents must provide detailed information on company background, product capabilities, rough cost estimates, potential risks, warranty terms, and small business utilization plans; responses must be received by 12:00 PM Eastern time on January 5, 2026, and submitted electronically to Edwin Hernandez and Dennis Grenier. This is a Request for Information issued for informational and market research purposes only, and does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment to procure.
This pre-solicitation notice includes no set-aside designation and does not identify any current incumbents or contractors. No specific award value or budget range has been disclosed in the market research materials. The RFI encourages broad industry participation from both U.S. and non-U.S. firms, with the requirement that prospective respondents be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. All costs associated with preparing and submitting responses are the responsibility of the interested parties, and the government will not reimburse any expenses. Respondents are advised to mark proprietary or competition-sensitive information appropriately within their submissions.

The USAF Life Cycle Management Center, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance & Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate, Tactical Air Control Party Modernization (TACP-M) Program Office (AFLCMC/WISN) is conducting market research to identify possible sources capable of enabling TACP Core Computers with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Dual Data at Rest (DAR) capabilities. Currently, TACP Core Computers that have accessed classified networks retain a classified status, creating logistical and operational security concerns during travel and field operations. This modification will allow these computers to ensure classified Data at Rest is properly sanitized, enabling the computers to be considered unclassified when powered off or logged out, mitigating these risks and enhancing operational security. This will be achieved through a minimum hardware update to the hard drives (to support full disk encryption) and a software update.
