About this opportunity

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Corporate University is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified accounting instructors to teach the Fundamentals of Accounting course to newly hired Financial Institution Specialists through virtual instruction via Microsoft Teams. Instructors will deliver instructor-led training covering Chapters 1-5 of the Intermediate Accounting, Enhanced eText textbook and the complete Accounting Fundamentals Study Guide with Supplemental Materials, with daily instruction lasting approximately two hours plus additional time for student questions and answers. Required qualifications include a Master's degree in Accounting or related field (or a Master's degree with 18 graduate accounting semester hours), a minimum of five years' experience instructing accounting to adult learners, proficiency with Microsoft Teams, demonstrated ability to employ multiple online teaching strategies, and expertise in financial accounting combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. It is important to note that this RFI is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a commitment to award a contract, obligation to pay for submitted information, or guarantee that respondents will be solicited on any resulting RFP. Responses must be submitted electronically to Contracting Officer Jemal Williams at jemwilliams@fdic.gov by 12:00 p.m. EDT on April 6, 2026, limited to five pages formatted at 8.5 by 11 inches with 1-inch margins and 12-point font.

This RFI contains no set-aside designations and does not identify any current contractors or incumbent vendors. The FDIC projects 5-10 course offerings in 2027 with student class sizes ranging from 5 to 28 participants, with instruction scheduled Monday through Thursday (12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST on Monday and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST Tuesday through Thursday), and instructors must be available 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST for student questions. No specific contract award value or budget range is disclosed in the RFI. Vendors must be prepared to provide alternate instructors with 30 days' notice if cancellation occurs. Responses should address four specific questions regarding firm qualifications, in-house resources, areas of ambiguity in the draft Statement of Work, and interest in providing a proposal on any resulting solicitation.
