About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (BARDA CBRN Division, Chemical MCM Program) is soliciting industry input through a Request for Information regarding repurposing specialized equipment originally customized to manufacture an emergency autoinjector platform with a novel glass-free, collapsible primary drug container made from high-barrier films, with responses due July 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
This RFI seeks transformative approaches applicable to chemical medical countermeasures, with preference for platforms broadly applicable across multiple CBRN indications. Technologies of interest include novel autoinjector platforms and needless drug delivery devices. The government will supply detailed information about the equipment and primary drug cartridge at time of award.
The specialized equipment inventory comprises approximately 70 items, including three Mikron Corp Denver Mini Cells for needle hub and sealed aseptic assembly operations, two custom MacTec units with HEPA filtration for drug container manufacturing, Aktiv Pharma Group fill and seal stations, VideoJet laser marking system, Mettler-Toledo weigh stations, Aktiv Pharma Group laser profiler seal inspection station, five Terra Universal laminar flow hoods, environmental monitoring nodes, and supporting laboratory and cleaning equipment.
Respondents must submit written responses not exceeding 8 pages for end-to-end solutions or 6 pages for individual platforms, addressing organizational overview, proposed solution technical overview, infrastructure and capabilities, experience and collaboration, and optional proposed program structures. While RRPV Consortium membership is not required to submit this RFI, respondents must be consortium members to respond to any future Request for Project Proposals. This RFI is for information gathering only and does not obligate the government to issue a future solicitation or make awards.
