About this opportunity
The National Park Service (NPS) Midwest Region is conducting a market survey to assess contractor interest and capabilities for replacing wooden shingle roofs on two historic buildings at the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. This pre-solicitation notice seeks roofing contractors registered in SAM.gov under NAICS code 238160 who can provide comprehensive roof replacement services, including all necessary labor, materials, tools, and equipment. Interested firms must submit a completed Sources Sought Survey via email to joseph_bac@nps.gov by February 14, 2025, at 1200 CST, referencing the project number 140P6025Q0010. While this is not a formal solicitation, the NPS will use the submitted information to develop its acquisition strategy, with contractors expected to demonstrate their construction bonding capacities and small business qualifications. The market research aims to gather details about potential contractors' capabilities, experience, and readiness to undertake the project.
The project is anticipated to have a total value between $100,000 and $250,000, with work expected to commence in late May 2025. There are no specific set-aside designations for this opportunity, though contractors must be registered as a small business under the applicable socio-economic categories in SAM. The small business size standard for this NAICS code is $19.0 million, providing opportunities for smaller roofing contractors to participate. Contractors will need to be prepared to handle a comprehensive roof replacement project involving two wooden-roofed buildings, with full mobilization, labor, and materials included in the scope of work. The NPS has indicated that complete specification documents and drawings will be provided if the agency proceeds with a formal solicitation, which would be posted on SAM.gov.
