About this opportunity

The Department of the Interior National Park Service Southeast Region is soliciting quotes for replacing protective fencing at the Oasis Visitor Center in Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida. The project requires removing 650 linear feet of existing 4-foot-high chain-link fencing and installing new 7-foot-tall, 8-gauge coated galvanized chain-link fencing with heavy-duty components, including an 8-foot-wide double swing gate with secure locking mechanisms. Contractors must complete all work within 31 calendar days from contract award, working in close proximity to a canal where alligators may be present, which requires careful consideration in proposal preparation. The government will evaluate quotes based on technical capability, past performance, and price, with technical and past performance combined being approximately equal to price in importance. Quotes are due by August 18, 2025, at 5 PM CDT, and must be submitted via email to the Contracting Specialist with specific subject line requirements.

This opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 238990 (All Other Specialty Trade Contractors) with a $19 million size standard, meaning only qualifying small businesses may submit proposals. No incumbent contractor information is provided in the solicitation documents, and no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed by the government. The work involves replacing exactly 650 linear feet of deteriorated fencing that serves as a crucial safety barrier protecting visitors along the boardwalk and viewing area from native wildlife in the canal oasis. Performance will take place at 52105 Tamiami Trail E in Ochopee, Florida, within Big Cypress National Preserve, with contractors responsible for all travel-related expenses including tools, materials, manpower, meals, and per diem. The contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price purchase order, requiring contractors to factor in all associated costs including labor, equipment, transportation, and overhead.

Independently, and not as an agent of the Government, The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to replace protective fencing at Oasis Visitor Center. The project involves the replacement of 650 linear feet of deteriorated, 4-foot-high chain-link fencing at the Oasis Visitor Center in Big Cypress National Preserve. The project will also involve the removal and proper disposal of the old fencing materials. Please see Attachment 1: Statement of Work.

*Offerors are advised that performance under this requirement will occur in close proximity(~8ft) to a canal in which the presence of alligators is possible. This environmental condition shall be duly considered in the preparation and submission of any proposal
