About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard seeks replacement of the front gate and access control system at USCG Station Bodega Bay, California, with proposals due September 18 and questions due September 11. The procurement is a total small business set-aside under NAICS 238990 (All Other Specialty Trade Contractors), with an estimated project magnitude between $25,000 and $100,000 on a firm fixed-price contract.
Place of performance is Bodega Bay, California. The contractor must provide a functional, reliable automated entry and exit solution including remote transmitters, proximity cards, vehicle detection loops, or other automated means. The gate must be at least 6 feet tall, clear a 240-inch (20-foot) driveway width, feature an open high-porosity picket design, and include commercial-grade automatic operator with manual override and weatherproof NEMA 4X/IP66 keypad, compliant with UL 325 and ASTM F2200 safety standards. The solution must comply with a 3-year design life requirement and zero ground disturbance (no digging, trenching, excavation, drilling, or penetration of native soils beyond existing asphalt or concrete). The site occupies a highly sensitive Native American archaeological location and experiences frequent high-velocity winds and corrosive salt-air conditions requiring marine-grade, wind-resistant, corrosion-resistant materials using innovative freestanding, non-penetrating above-ground weighted ballast or counterweight systems. Construction wage rates for Sonoma County apply. Performance must begin immediately upon award and complete within 45 calendar days of receiving Notice to Proceed. An organized site visit is scheduled for September 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM PDT; interested participants must notify Shawn Jenkins and Jesse Yutig by September 7 and provide a completed base access form. Offers must be valid for a minimum of 30 calendar days. Evaluation weighs technical approach acceptability and lowest reasonable price, with award to the responsible offeror submitting the lowest priced acceptable offer.
