The procurement involves overhauling gearbox assemblies (NSN 1680-00-435-8801, Part Number 4C91001-101B or 218-1B) under a firm fixed-price contract structure. The solicitation includes source qualification requirements, with interested parties needing Joint Certification Program registration and export control approval to access technical data packages. All questions must be submitted via email to Contract Specialist LynTasia Harris or Contracting Officer Phillip Russell, with completed proposals due by 5:30 PM EST on August 20, 2025.
This opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, specifically targeting Women-Owned Small Businesses under NAICS code 811210 with a size standard of $34 million. Two companies, Thomas Instruments and Safe Flight Instrument LLC, are currently pre-qualified sources eligible to compete for this requirement. The contract stipulates that contractors must complete overhauls within 90 calendar days and includes multiple line items covering standard repair, beyond economical repair, and no fault found scenarios. The procurement also includes several Contract Data Requirements Lists for reporting on commercial asset visibility, accidents, production, government property, supply chain risks, quality programs, and unique item identification. Performance will be managed through the Air Force Sustainment Center at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, emphasizing the critical safety nature of these components whose failure could create extremely hazardous in-flight conditions.
