About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking repair services for an Ethernet Switch, Air (NIIN: 016889391, Part Number: 8532045-2) classified under FSC code 1680 and NAICS code 336413. This is a critical flight component that requires government source approval prior to contract award due to its flight-critical nature and insufficient technical data to support full and open competition. Only previously approved sources have been solicited for this repair requirement. Prospective contractors must submit comprehensive source approval information as detailed in the NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Information Brochure for Repair, and any proposals lacking the required documentation will not be considered for award. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on December 10, 2025, with a due date of December 11, 2025, providing prospective contractors with minimal time to prepare and submit their offers.
This procurement is not designated as a set-aside contract, meaning it is open to competition among qualified contractors. The notice does not identify any current contractors or incumbents, nor does it specify an award value or budget range for the repair services. The repair requirement is delivered FOB Origin, and the government indicates that if a source approval request evaluation cannot be completed in time to meet fleet support needs, the award may proceed based on operational requirements. Interested contractors should note that if their source approval request is currently under evaluation at NAVSUP WSS, they must submit a copy of the cover letter accompanying their original request along with their proposal. Contractors unfamiliar with the source approval process are directed to http://www.navsup.navy.mil/public/navsup/home/ for additional guidance on submitting the required SAR package.
