About this opportunity
The Air Force Research Laboratory issued a Notice of Intent to Award Single Source on June 24, 2026, for repair and calibration of an Oxford EDS UltimMax 100 detector, with responses due by July 1, 2026 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time. The procurement is restricted to Oxford Instruments America, Inc., the sole source determined capable of performing the work under FAR 13.101(b). Work is performed at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, and comprises EDS detector removal, repair, reinstallation, and recalibration of the integrated Hitachi NX-9000 Scanning Electron Microscope system, estimated at approximately 16 hours of labor. The contractor must supply all parts, tools, equipment, and labor; actual detector repair may occur at the contractor's facility, but removal, reinstallation, and calibration must occur at Eglin AFB. No small business set-aside applies. Responses asserting competitive capability should be emailed to michael.hornberger.1@us.af.mil with subject line "Repair & Calibrate EDS Detector" and may include only .PDF, .doc, .docx, .xls, or .xlsx attachments; the Government will determine whether to conduct competitive procurement based solely on information received.
