About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 is seeking a service-disabled veteran-owned small business contractor to renovate the Community Living Center (CLC) located on its first and second floors. The project encompasses comprehensive interior upgrades, including wall and floor finish replacements, handrail and wall protection updates, ceiling tile repairs, elevator flooring replacement, and renovation of resident room lockers and nurse stations. All interior finishes must strictly adhere to VA Design Guidelines Criteria, with specific exclusions for bathrooms, utility rooms, and the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center administrative area. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 13, 2025, with responses due by January 27, 2025, indicating a relatively tight timeline for potential bidders to prepare their proposals. While specific evaluation criteria were not detailed in the notice, contractors will likely be assessed on their ability to meet VA design specifications and demonstrate expertise in healthcare facility renovation.

The opportunity is specifically set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses operating within the Commercial and Institutional Building Construction NAICS category (236220). The project scope suggests a significant renovation effort focused on improving patient care environments, with work targeting critical infrastructure and aesthetic improvements in a healthcare setting. No specific award value or budget range was provided in the pre-solicitation notice, though the comprehensive nature of the renovations implies a substantial contract value. The project will involve replacing built-in lockers, nurse stations, repainting and refinishing doors and door frames, and potentially replacing some doors, indicating a thorough and detailed renovation approach. Contractors interested in this opportunity will need to demonstrate specialized skills in healthcare facility construction and a clear understanding of VA design and renovation standards.
