About this opportunity

The Tennessee Army National Guard (TNARNG) is soliciting quotes for a remanufactured Cummins ISX15 550 Complete Replacement Engine for installation in a 2009 Kenworth T800 semi-truck. The procurement requires a complete 15.0-liter, inline 6-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine with 550 HP at 2000 RPM and 1850 lb-ft torque at 1200 RPM, meeting EPA 2013 or newer emissions standards and full compatibility with the existing Kenworth chassis without significant modifications. The engine must include a minimum two-year/200,000-mile warranty, FOB destination delivery within three to four weeks after receipt of order, and no core exchange is required. The government intends to award a firm fixed-price contract using FAR subpart 13 procedures, with evaluation based on the contractor's ability to meet the specified technical requirements and salient characteristics. The original quote deadline was June 26, 2025, but has been extended to July 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM CDT, with quotes to be submitted via email to the contracting officer.

This solicitation is set aside in its entirety for small business entities under NAICS code 333618 (Other Engine Equipment Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,500 employees. No current contractor or incumbent is identified in the documentation, as this appears to be a single-source procurement justified by the proprietary nature of the Cummins engine platform and compatibility requirements with the existing vehicle. The solicitation seeks one complete remanufactured engine, with the contract value not disclosed in the available documents. Performance will occur at the Tennessee Army National Guard UTES-2 facility in Lavinia, TN 38348, where the engine will be delivered for government installation and acceptance testing. The procurement is being administered by the USPFO Tennessee ARNG Purchasing and Contracting office located at 3041 Sidco Drive, Nashville, TN 37204.
