About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting market research to identify alternative sources capable of manufacturing voltage regulators (NSN 6110-01-506-8086). The agency seeks qualified contractors who can produce this electrical control equipment to meet or exceed the quality standards of the current approved manufacturer. Interested contractors must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package through the DLA Alternate Offer/Source Approval Request Program, which requires comprehensive technical documentation demonstrating manufacturing capability equivalent to or superior to the original equipment manufacturer. The evaluation will focus on a contractor's ability to provide complete technical data packages proving product equality or superiority, along with company information, pricing capability, and delivery performance. Potential suppliers should submit their source information and points of contact to Zachary Mullins at zachary.mullins@dla.mil by the March 5, 2026 response deadline.
This procurement does not utilize a set-aside designation. The current approved source is C.E. Niehoff & Co. (CAGE Code 76761) with part number N3207, which currently supplies this item under NAICS code 335311 (Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing). The market research indicates an estimated annual demand of 748 units with maximum delivery timelines of several days, suggesting an established requirement for ongoing supply. The solicitation contemplates a potential Long-Term Contract with a three-year base period and option years, though no specific budget ceiling or award value is disclosed in the pre-solicitation materials. Interested contractors must demonstrate their willingness and capability to support an LTC structure while meeting the government's commercial pricing and delivery expectations.
