About this opportunity

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has awarded a sole-source delivery order to Red Hat, Inc. for renewal of annual software maintenance and support entitlements for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) on a NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V Government-Wide Acquisition Contract, awarded July 23, 2026.

ICE requires the renewal to maintain compliance with security, legal, operational, and contractual obligations while supporting mission-essential applications across more than 150 application development teams utilizing over 1,300 Linux servers and supporting over 100 applications in production, staging, and non-production configurations. The justification establishes that RHEL is the only Linux operating system meeting ICE's mandatory Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance requirements. Competing products—Ubuntu, Debian, Oracle Linux, Rocky Linux, and Amazon Linux 2—do not satisfy these requirements. Similarly, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is the sole solution meeting ICE's requirements for advanced post-provisioning automation, stateside support, high availability configurations, and compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks; competitors Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, GitHub, and Jenkins cannot fulfill these mandatory criteria. The delivery order covers a 12-month base period across Fiscal Years 2025–2026 and will be issued to all authorized resellers within the NASA SEWP V Women-Owned Small Business socio-economic category. Market research completed July 6, 2026 with outreach to three NASA SEWP V vendors yielded one response providing pricing and availability.

Notice text

To continue utilizing the Red Hat products and remain compliant from security, legal, operational, and contractual perspectives, ICE requires the renewal of the annual software maintenance and support entitlements for both RHEL and AAP. These products support new and existing ICE mission essential applications for all ICE programs.

Awarded contract NNG15SC71B to unknown vendor for unknown amount on 2026-07-23.
