About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Space Command is seeking contractor-provided drone training services to instruct HH-60W aircrews of the 301st Rescue Squadron at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, on tactics for countering Group 2 Unmanned Aerial System threats. The contractor must deliver four qualified Group 2 UAS targets capable of sustained flight at 100-120 knots indicated airspeed below 500 feet altitude with minimum three-hour endurance, along with all operational personnel for transport, assembly, launch, operation, and recovery of the equipment. The training will consist of four total days of instruction, including two days of "search and intercept" training sorties and two days of "intercept and kinetic engagement" sorties, with operations occurring in designated Atlantic Ocean airspace 12-25 nautical miles east of Patrick Space Force Base. The government will evaluate capabilities packages based on demonstrated experience providing similar services to government and commercial customers, business qualifications, anticipated teaming arrangements, and past performance references. Interested parties must submit their capabilities packages by 1:00 PM Eastern on March 24, 2026, to the designated Air Force contracting officers at keona.franklin@spaceforce.mil and christopher.petrosky.4@spaceforce.mil.
This procurement is not designated as a set-aside; however, the contracting office is considering small business eligibility while remaining open to any size business capable of meeting requirements. The performance period for the training event is scheduled for June 22-26, 2026, with contractor flexibility required to adjust specific event days based on weather or range scheduling constraints. The applicable NAICS code is 611512 (Flight Training) with a small business size standard of $34,000,000 in annual revenue. Respondents must include no more than five-page capabilities packages containing DUNS and Cage Code information, SAM registration status, business size classification, employee count, any disadvantaged or women-owned business certifications, teaming arrangements, and up to three past performance references with contact information. All respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management to be eligible for contract award, and the government has not provided an estimated award value or budget range in this pre-solicitation notice.
