About this file
This is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for drone training services to be provided to the 301st Rescue Squadron at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. The contractor shall deliver a comprehensive Group 2 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) target training service designed to instruct and familiarize HH-60W aircrews with tactics for countering small, high-speed aerial threats. The period of performance runs from 22-26 June 2026, with the contractor required to demonstrate flexibility to adjust specific event days within this window to accommodate weather or range scheduling issues.
The contractor must provide four Group 2 UAS targets meeting specified performance characteristics: airspeed of 100-120 knots indicated airspeed, operation below 500 feet altitude, minimum 3-hour endurance, and capability for controlled flight 20-25 nautical miles from shore in assigned warning areas over the Atlantic Ocean. The contractor shall conduct four total training days consisting of two days focused on "search and intercept" training sorties and two days focused on "intercept and kinetic engagement" sorties, culminating in destruction of the four UAS targets. The contractor must provide all qualified operational personnel to transport, assemble, launch, operate, and recover UAS assets and ground support equipment, designate a single point of contact for coordination with the government's technical representative, and maintain daily housekeeping of company-generated waste and equipment from government-provided facilities. Launch, recovery, and ground support operations will be conducted at Patrick SFB, Florida, with training operations in designated airspace 12-25 nautical miles east of the base over the Atlantic Ocean. The government will provide necessary base access credentials, a suitable briefing space for pre-mission coordination, and scheduling/deconflicting of training airspace. The contractor bears responsibility for all base access compliance and any delays resulting from failure to meet access procedures shall not result in additional government cost.
