Request for Information (RFI)
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, solicits expressions of interest from companies capable of recycling scrap stainless steel. This RFI is issued to assist with finding potential suppliers interested in this solicitation.

The SRS is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles.

SRNS has unused and excess material that is primarily stainless steel, with carbon steel and others present as well. The material is proprietary in its present state and CANNOT be sold, relayed, transferred or gifted, in any form, unless it has been rendered "useless for its intended purpose". BUYER MUST UNDERSTAND THAT ALL MATERIAL WILL BE DEFORMED, DAMAGED AND RENDERED USELESS IN ITS PRESENT FORM AND MUST BE CONSIDERED SCRAP METAL. SRNS intends to offer this material to prospective buyers in "LOTS" by means of a bid process. The successful buyer of each lot will then deliver and stage a "roll-off" container to SRS at a precise location that will be determined. The roll-off will them be loaded by SRNS personnel and the buyer will be contacted when it is ready to be retrieved. A copy of the "Scale Ticket" (or like form) will be required to be submitted to SRNS, verifying that the material has been sold for scrap metal.

Expression of interested to this RFI shall be submitted via emai to Barbara McCarty at barbara.mccarty@srs.gov, 803-952-6119. by Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.
