THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT.
The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0378 on or about March 31, 2010, for the RECOVERY Titan Trail Bridge Construction project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after March 31, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The work is the construction of a 90 ft long x 5 ft wide trail bridge over Fish Creek on the Titan Trail at MP 0.13. Work includes designing, fabricating, transporting, and constructing a trail bridge superstructure and substructure. Work also includes reconstructing approximately 700 feet of gravel trail from the Titan Trailhead Parking Area to the bridge site, which includes 30 feet of elevated boardwalk across an overflow channel; constructing 72 feet of new gravel trail and a set of steps to the bridge; and constructing 97 feet of elevated boardwalk trail with railing from the bridge to the existing trail on the far side of the creek.
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, except those designated as Government-furnished, and incidentals to perform all work specified herein.
The Government estimate is between $250,000 and $500,000 (Base plus Option Items).
PROJECT LOCATION. The project is located just off the Salmon River Road approximately three miles from Hyder, Alaska. Hyder is accessible from the Canadian highway system through Stewart, British Columbia. Hyder is also accessible by float plane, barge, and boat from Ketchikan, Alaska. Ketchikan, Alaska, and Terrace, British Columbia, are the nearest full service cities. The Titan Trailhead Parking area is on the east side of the Salmon River Road just past the Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site. The bridge site is approximately 700 feet from the parking area.
PARTICIPATION. This project is being issued under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (FAR 19.10) which allows for Full and Open Competition.
