Update #3 ·
This Amendment #0001 to solicitation 1232SD18B0016 is issued pursuant to questions received from an
interested firm. All other firms interested to submit a "Bid" must include a signed copy of this
amendment with their bid as confirmation having read the amendment.
Ql. The base bid schedule (magnitude) $250K to $300K. Is that scoped to include the scope of all
3 roofing areas or just Building 200, North Roof Area?
Al. Magnitude is scoped to include all three roofing areas.
Q2. If the base bid is just for the North Roof Area, would you and your staff like to see 1 solid
bid or 3 separate bids?
A2. Per SOW, 5.1a,
5.1 Bid Schedule and Principal Features of Work:
a. Bid Schedule, Building 200 Roof:
BASE-- North Roof Area (from centerline of penthouse/clearstory to North edge of Building
200 Main Roof) - 18,767 sq. ft.
ADDITIVE/ALTERATE 1-- South Roof Area (from centerline of penthouse/clearstory to South edge of
Building 200 Main Roof) - 17,577 sq. ft.
ADDITIVE/ALTERATE 2-- Penthouse and Clearstory Roof Areas - 4,325 sq. ft.
We wish to see a BASE bid pricing with the pricing for the two additive alternates.
Q3. With the continued unknown of the existing roofing system, if there are many major areas of
moisture after the moisture scan is complete, will there be an opportunity to submit change orders
or supplemental to cover the extended work or do we just include and estimate?
A3. If there are major areas of moisture, this would be an unforeseen condition, so there would
be opportunity to submit a change order to cover the extended work if needed. As there does not
appear to be evidence of moisture at this time, we do not anticipate the appearance of major areas
of moisture.
Q4. We are well prepared to cut out sections and replace, however, if it is found that the entire
or over half of the roof needs replacing, how will that be handled if at all?
A4. It would be an unforeseen condition according to the FAR and handled accordingly.
All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged and in full force and
effect.
