About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center (Air Force Test Center) is conducting a Sources Sought Notice to assess vendor capabilities for a Ranges Optical Temperature Measurement System at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee. The procurement seeks to determine the technical capability of small and large businesses to potentially provide this specialized optical temperature measurement system. Interested vendors must submit a 3-page capability package by January 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM Central Time, which should include company information, business size classification, CAGE code, SAM.gov UEI, comments on draft technical specifications, available contract vehicles, capabilities statement, and estimated pricing. To access the draft technical specifications, companies must have completed a NIST 800-171 self-assessment within the past three years through the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS). The government will use the submitted responses to determine the ultimate procurement approach, which could result in a single source acquisition, a small business set-aside, or full and open competition.

The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 334513 (Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing) with a size standard of 750 employees and PSC code 6695 for Combination and Miscellaneous Instruments. No specific set-aside has been predetermined, and the government has not disclosed potential award values or specific quantity requirements. Companies interested in participating must email their CAGE Code to the Contract Specialist (noah.bean.1@us.af.mil) or Contracting Officer (robert.mosley.3@us.af.mil) to verify NIST 800-171 compliance and receive the technical specifications via DoD SAFE. The procurement is subject to cybersecurity requirements, and contractors must adhere to NISPOM guidelines for handling Controlled Unclassified Information. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted, and the government reserves the right to provide or withhold feedback on submissions at its discretion.
