About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 10 radiator units with the National Stock Number 7R-1615-012903175-HT, with delivery specified as FOB Origin. This procurement is highly specialized, requiring source approval from specific manufacturers due to the flight-critical nature of the item and limited technical data availability. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, though interested parties may identify their capability to respond within 45 days of the notice publication. Potential bidders must submit comprehensive source approval information from the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, including technical data demonstrating production experience or capability. Proposals that fail to provide complete required documentation will not be considered for award.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity. The procurement is for a quantity of 10 units, with the notice posted on May 1, 2025, and responses due by June 16, 2025. While no specific award value is mentioned, the contract appears to be for a specialized aerospace component within the Product Service Code 1615 for Helicopter Rotor Blades, Drive Mechanisms, and Components. The government has explicitly stated that commercial item acquisition policies will not be applied in this solicitation. Interested parties without previous government source approval must submit detailed technical information and may have their source approval request evaluated concurrently with the procurement process to support fleet support needs.
