About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify qualified vendors capable of providing onsite document destruction services at the Baltimore Regional Office located at 31 Hopkins Plaza, Suite 2109, Baltimore, MD 21201. The procurement falls under NAICS code 561990 (All Other Support Services) with a size standard of $16.5 million, and the agency is seeking to understand the market base of potential qualified sources and their size classifications for acquisition planning purposes. Contractors must be capable of providing and maintaining eleven 96-gallon secured shredding bins with four 360-degree rotating wheels, with the VA retaining authority to determine and change bin locations throughout the contract period. Interested parties must submit responses electronically to Afia.monteaperto@va.gov by 1:00 PM EST on August 5, 2025, with submissions limited to eight pages and including completed qualification worksheets and capability statements. The evaluation will focus on companies' ability to provide the required services as prime contractors, including descriptions of available equipment, vehicles, and similar past performance.
This Sources Sought Notice does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified vendors regardless of socio-economic status, though the qualification worksheet requests information about various small business certifications including SDVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), HUBZone, and women-owned small business designations. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the notice, and no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed as this is solely a market research exercise. The scope involves destroying approximately 132 bins of paper documents annually, averaging eleven bins per monthly service cycle, indicating a regular, ongoing requirement for document destruction services. The notice explicitly states that this is not a request for quotes and no contract will be awarded from this announcement, with any future solicitation to be issued separately at a later date. Companies responding to this Sources Sought Notice will not receive feedback on their submissions or notification of evaluation results.
