About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to the American College of Surgeons. The contract will be for Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation services specifically for the Veterans Affairs Cancer Program (VACP). This procurement is structured as a firm-fixed price contract with a performance period spanning five months from October 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026. The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to provide advance notification of the VA's intention to conduct a sole source procurement while allowing other potential contractors an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. Interested parties have seven days from the publication date of July 22, 2025, to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations that could demonstrate comparable services more advantageous to the government. The VA is using the statutory authority under 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, which permits other than full and open competition when only one responsible source exists that can satisfy agency requirements. All responsible sources are eligible to respond with their capability statements or proposals during the seven-day response window. If no affirmative written responses are received within this timeframe, the VA will proceed to award the contract to the American College of Surgeons without further notice, emphasizing the agency's commitment to maintaining accreditation for its cancer treatment programs.
