About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 19 has issued a Special Notice for an Industry Day event at the Denver Logistics Center in Golden, Colorado, scheduled for August 9th-10th, 2022. The event is focused on remote thermal monitoring technologies for early detection and prevention of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) among veterans. This Industry Day is designed to engage industry partners with commercially available systems that can monitor at-risk veterans through remote temperature monitoring services. The VA's objective is to establish a new standard of care in diabetes treatment, particularly for the approximately 25% of veterans who have diabetes. The event is part of a broader initiative to improve veteran healthcare and reduce diabetic-related complications.
Contractors interested in participating must RSVP by providing their company name, product description, and attendee names to Chris Binkley and Randy Blevins via email. The event is specifically seeking industry partners with remote temperature monitoring technologies that can help diagnose and treat diabetic foot ulcers. Eligible participants should have systems capable of monitoring at-risk veterans' foot temperatures daily in their personal environments. While this is an information-gathering event, it is not a formal solicitation, and the government will not accept unsolicited proposals or commit to a contract. Attendees must adhere to security protocols, including providing a list of attendees in advance and having a point of contact available to manage building access. The Industry Day aims to drive future requirements formation and procurement to support veteran care, with a focus on increasing access to efficient and effective diabetes treatment technologies.
