About this opportunity

This Special Notice from the Department of Veterans Affairs announces the intent to sole source music therapy services to Challenge America, a nonprofit organization. The VA Office of Rural Health and Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Service Program Office will provide funding through the Veterans Rural Health Resource Center and Rural Veterans Tele-Rehabilitation Initiative Enterprise-Wide Initiative to conduct a total of thirteen virtual music therapy retreats across eight sites with the goal of providing veteran participants access to music therapy.

The justification for the sole source award to Challenge America is that the music therapy services required are only available from this one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency's requirements. The notice does not provide any deadlines or eligibility criteria for contractors. It describes the Rural Veterans Tele-Rehabilitation Initiative which leverages technology to bring under-represented rehabilitation therapies into veterans' homes in rural areas, champions innovations in telerehabilitation technologies, and fosters community engagement opportunities for veterans following therapy through partnerships with various arts and medicine organizations.
