About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA) is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing up to four Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The solicitation seeks RRTs who are also certified as Polysomnographers with Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credentials. Qualified contractors must demonstrate extensive respiratory therapy expertise, including critical care experience, California state licensure, and certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care. Respondents are required to submit a detailed capability statement by March 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM PT, including company information, contact details, and specific examples of similar service provision. The evaluation will focus on contractors' ability to meet complex medical staffing requirements, which include performing polysomnograms, operating ventilators, administering medical gases, and supporting critical care procedures.

The procurement is designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside, with the VA committed to awarding the contract to qualifying veteran-owned businesses. The anticipated contract period spans five years, consisting of a 12-month base period and four subsequent one-year option periods from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030. The contract falls under NAICS code 561320 (Temporary Help Services) and PSC Q521 (Medical - Pulmonary), with a focus on specialized respiratory therapy staffing. If market research identifies two or more veteran-owned small businesses certified by the SBA as capable of performing the required services, the VA will exclusively set aside the solicitation for such businesses under 38 U.S.C. 8127. Potential contractors with a Federal Supply Schedule contract offering SIN 621-034 for Respiratory Therapy are encouraged to highlight their existing contract numbers in their response.
