About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration is conducting a Sources Sought Notice for Gastroenterology Physician Services at the Central Iowa VA Health Care System. The procurement seeks a board-certified gastroenterology physician to provide 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) services, which is defined as a minimum of 80 hours every two weeks. Interested vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit a capabilities statement that includes company details, contact information, and evidence of service delivery capabilities. The VA will use the submitted information to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy, specifically whether the procurement will be set-aside for small businesses or remain an unrestricted opportunity. Responses are due by May 30, 2025, and vendors should email their information to Angela Stewart with the solicitation number 36C26325Q0815 in the subject line.
The solicitation is classified under NAICS code 621111 for Offices of Physicians and does not currently have a specific set-aside designation. The anticipated contract is a firm fixed-price arrangement scheduled to commence on January 1, 2026. No specific incumbent contractor information is provided in the notice, and no precise award value or budget range is disclosed. The VA emphasizes that this is a market research effort and not a formal solicitation, and respondents will not be notified of the research results. Large businesses are specifically requested to respond to help determine market capacity, especially if insufficient small business interest is demonstrated. The procurement is specifically for on-site gastroenterology physician services supporting VA beneficiaries in the Central Iowa VA Health Care System.
