The extension will be granted to Paragon Systems under contract 70RFP218DEC000009, utilizing the authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The contract is classified under NAICS code 561612 for Security Guards and Patrol Services, with a small business size standard of $29 million. The government will not be issuing a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) and will instead directly negotiate with Paragon Systems. A Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition will be posted to sam.gov following the contract award.
The current pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for the contract. The contract extension will cover a four-month period from April 1, 2025, through July 31, 2025, with a total estimated value of $6,727,590.09. The extension is designed to provide continuity of armed protective security officer services at seven locations while allowing time to complete a competitive procurement process for a follow-on Multiple Award Contract (MAC) task order. Paragon Systems, located in Herndon, VA, is the incumbent contractor and will continue to provide these critical security services. The government aims to ensure uninterrupted security for federal facilities during this transition period, with a minimum 60-day transition timeframe built into the extension plan.
