About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source purchase order to The Trustees of Columbia University for a prospective study characterizing the neurocognitive effects, biomarkers, and neuroradiological features over 24 months in patients hospitalized with COVID-19 who developed neurological manifestations, predominantly among Hispanic/Latinx populations. The statement of work details objectives to recruit 150 participants and collect and validate data and specimens biweekly to analyze and report on. Responses to the pre-solicitation notice are due to the contracting specialist by March 19, 2024.
There is no set-aside designation. The justification cites unusual and compelling urgency under 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(2) due to a cost extension request not being approved after the deadline to modify an existing contract with Columbia University. The sole source award is not specified as to value or period of performance, but will procure a prospective long-term follow-up study of up to 150 participants over 24 months from the intended awardee.
