About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Nuclear Weapons Center seeks to award an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide propulsion subsystem support services for maintaining the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile system. Under the contract, the selected contractor will assist with sustaining engineering, maintenance, aging surveillance testing, modifications, repairs, and refurbishment of propulsion subsystem components and support equipment. The contract will also cover demilitarization and disposal tasks associated with retiring the Minuteman III system. Responses to the forthcoming solicitation are due by May 28, 2020. The agency intends to award this sole-source contract to meet its needs.
There is no set-aside designated for this procurement. The government intends to award a sole-source contract to Northrop Grumman Space Systems through its ATK Launch Systems division. The total ceiling value of the contract is $2.311 billion over an ordering period from November 2020 to May 2039 to provide propulsion subsystem support services for maintaining the Minuteman III system through its retirement.

Under the contemplated contract, the contractor will provide assistance to the Government inmaintaining the MMIII weapon system. Work will be in areas such as sustaining engineering,maintenance engineering, aging surveillance, manufacturing or modification of systems andequipment, software maintenance, developmental and production engineering, production,procurement, repair, refurbishment, etc. of Propulsion Subsystem components and related supportequipment. This effort also includes scope for compatibility with existing or future MMIII sustainmentsystems or programs. Additionally, this contract will include demilitarization and disposal tasks insupport of the retirement of the MMIII weapon system.
IAW FAR 6.302-1, the Government intends to award this contract on a sole source basis to Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSS) through its ATK Launch Systems Inc. operating division.
