About this opportunity
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) announced a Proposers' Day for the Restorative & health-Enhancing Sleep Time (REST) program on July 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET in hybrid format (virtual and in-person in Washington, DC), with registration closing July 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM ET. Attendance is optional and not required for proposal submission; in-person capacity is limited and may close before the deadline. ARPA-H expects to publish the formal Innovative Solutions Opening (ARPA-H-SOL-26-159) on or about June 16, 2026.
The REST program seeks to transform sleep measurement and treatment through objective, home-based, closed-loop technologies that detect and respond in real time to sleep-relevant physiological features. Two Technical Areas structure proposals: TA1 (Measure & Diagnose) focuses on validated in-home systems for objective sleep measurement and insomnia diagnosis; TA2 (Control & Treat) focuses on noninvasive closed-loop intervention systems that adapt treatments in real time. The program centers on insomnia but may address additional sleep disorders.
ARPA-H anticipates successful proposals will require multi-disciplinary teaming spanning sleep medicine, device development, signal processing, AI/ML, neuromodulation, clinical validation, regulatory strategy, and human factors engineering. Interested parties may submit teaming profiles at https://solutions.arpa-h.gov/teaming/rest to identify collaborators. The Proposers' Day will include government and stakeholder presentations, open discussion for teaming, and live Q&A with the Program Manager. Contact Nate Mohatt, PhD (REST@arpa-h.gov), for technical inquiries. No reimbursement is provided for participation costs.
